Founded by visionary entrepreneurs Mr. Rakesh Malhotra and Mr. Navneet Kapoor, SAR launched Luminous in 1988, which became a market leader in the energy solutions sector by 2011. By 2017, SAR's founders fully divested their shares to Schneider.In 2012, SAR Group embarked on its next chapter—focusing on sustainable, consumer-driven innovation. Serial entrepreneur and investor with a 30+ year history in power, energy, and electric vehicle industries. Founded over 15 startups including Lectrix Motors (2007), India's first indigenous electric two-wheeler, and Livguard Energy Technologies (2014), a leading energy storage company.Established Ncubate Capital Partners in 2011, Luminous Power Technologies in 1988, and Livpure in 2012. Previously held engineering roles at NELCO (1983-84) and Siemens (1984-85).Graduated from Jadavpur University in 1983, followed by Harvard Business School in 2012 and Yale School of Management (2015-2016). Actively involved in mentoring startups and social initiatives.
